Hjelledalen - salmon, trout and eel

The lake

Here you find very good fishing conditions with different equipment: woobles, flies, worms, with or without boat. The catch will probably be in your hands pretty fast. The lake is bound to a big river running down to the Nordfjord. Salmons, trouts and eel are going up and down the river.

The river     

The river gives you an extraordinary fishing experience and you can use different fishing tackle with or without boat. Only a few local fishermen use this river to fish and it is also hardly used in the tourist season. Both, professionals and amateurs, can get nice experiences with this river.

Stryn Summer Ski Center

The Summer Ski Centre is a popular attractions in Stryn.
Whether you like alpine, telemark, snowboard, freestyle or cross country skiing: at Stryn Summer Ski Centre you can enjoy the unique experience to ski on summer snow. The ski centre can offer two lifts, ski rental, ski school, cafeteria and lots of fun.
Stryn Summer Ski Centre is situated by "Gamle Strynefjellsvegen", the old road over Stryn Mountain, 15 kilometres east of Hjelledalen cabin center.

Walks

Tracks and nature trails close to the campsite lead into the mountains and up to traditional mountain dairy farms.

Hjelledalen is also a nice place for children. You got a lot of space for fun and play in open air, and there is a bathing-place only 2 km away. There are boats for hire at the same place, if you want to go fishing for example. A cosy thing to do can be to have a barbeque for the whole family here, since there’s equipment for public use.
